This comprehensive program is designed to prepare students for the Health Care Aide Certificate Program while emphasizing language and academic skills. With small class sizes and tutoring services, we provide personalized attention and support to students throughout their learning journey. Through intensive language training and academic skill development, we equip students with the necessary tools for success in the HCA program and in the healthcare environment. Additionally, qualified individuals can benefit from Alberta Government grant funding for both the full-time EAL component and the full-time Health Care Aide program.

- Duration: 16-week EAL Component and 32-week HCA Component (including 8-week practicum)
- Class Schedule: EAL component: Mon to Fri (9:30am - 2:00pm) | HCA component: Mon to Thurs (8:00am - 12:00pm) | Fri Tutoring (12:00pm – 5:00pm)

Program Information
EAL Component
- Delivery: Online
- Classes are taught through Microsoft Teams. Our well-trained and experienced staff will provide training and support to students who require additional assistance with online language training.
- Duration: 16 weeks
- Class Schedule: Mon to Fri (9:30am – 2:00pm)
- Students complete English for Academic Purposes Course and English for Medical Purposes Course
HCA Component
- Delivery: Online and In-Person
- Theory classes are delivered online through Microsoft Teams
- Lab classes are held on-site at the college
- Clinical placements take place at designated sites
- Duration: 32 weeks
- Class Schedule: Mon to Thurs (8:00am – 12:00pm)
- Students complete the Government of Alberta Health Care Aide Certificate Program (After completing the program, students must pass the provincial certification exam)

Students may be evaluated by Calgary Language Assessment and Referral Centre (CLARC) to determine placement in the program
