According to the Security Services and Investigator’s Act, all security services professionals who want to work in Alberta have to be licensed. Columbia College offers the Alberta Basic Security Training (ABST) course.

The Alberta Basic Security Training course consists of 7 modules which will be covered over a period of 38.5 hours. Following are the list of modules which constitute this course:
