International Day coming to Columbia College
The students of Columbia College’s English as a Second Language Program are excited to present: International Day 2009! This year it will be held on June 12th, 2009. Please read all about it below!
What is International Day
Each year students in the English as a Second Language Program host International Day, a celebration meant to showcase the College’s cultural diversity. The event will occur this year on June 12, with over 20 different cultural groups creating interactive displays and activities highlighting the music, dance, food and traditions of their particular community. The students provide the food, drink, entertainment, and various items from their home countries to showcase.
Please Join Us…
International Day is a chance to explore other cultures in fun and exciting ways. See the cultural items, watch the entertainment, and enjoy the food. We hope you will join us in celebrating diversity at Columbia College on June 12, 2009.
Sponsorship
Students provide the food and cultural items used for display during International Day. Columbia College provides the various art supplies used as well as all of the plates and cutlery. Items are donated by various companies and community donors to be used as prizes for the participants.
If you or your organization would like to participate by donating an item that can be used as a door prize for participants, or, would like to make some other donation to help the College and its community of students celebrate diversity, we would be extremely grateful. You donation will be mentioned in the program distributed to all those who attend.
