Flexibility

An employee who is extremely demanding and fastidious about the tasks will always lose out on potential opportunities. Your boss will instead prefer someone who is willing to do every duty which is assigned to them. Someone who cringes or throws a fit at every other task given to him seldom makes it to the top. In the corporate world, human resource professionals interview candidates to understand their ability to be flexible and prefer hiring ones which score high on these parameters.

Reliability

This goes without saying, your manager expects you to be reliable so that he can assign you serious responsibilities. When something is assigned to you, your boss should be able to breathe easy knowing the work will be done to perfection. In other words, your employer should be able to trust you with anything and everything that is assigned to you.

Willingness to Learn

Your yearning for learning is something that will give you lasting success. Organizations try to gauge this quality in candidates and use it to screen them for a job. Nobody wants to hire someone unwilling to grow in their organization. Similar, this personality trait in people are neither respected by their seniors nor their peers. The willingness to learn new things is the essential quality in an employer expectations list.

Proactive

Imagine going in a car which runs automatically with the help of an engine as opposed to being in a car that needs to be pushed to get started. Anyone would prefer the former. Similarly, employers expect their new employee to be self-driven and proactive. In today’s busy world, nobody has the time and energy to mentor someone all the time. Hence, you need to maintain a proactive state of mind at your job every single day.
